Call for Nominations – Board of Directors Positions
Southwestern Archaeology, Inc. (SWA), the sponsoring organization for Pecos Conference and
the Cordell/Powers Prize, is calling for nominations for elections of three officers to be held at
the 2024 Pecos Conference, August 1-4, near Chino Valley, Arizona. The standing President
(David Purcell), Secretary (Kimberly Spurr), and Information Specialist (Ethan Ortega) are
completing their terms. Ortega has resigned his position and will complete his term of service at
Pecos Conference. The following two-year positions are on this year’s ballot:

 

• President (2024-2026)

• Secretary (2024-2026)

• Information Specialist (2024-2026)

organization. Please nominate candidates for a position before July 25 by contacting David
Purcell at davidepurcell@gmail.com with a candidate statement. Candidates will be announced,
and candidate statements posted at the 2024 Pecos Conference. The vote will be held at the
Business Meeting, Saturday, August 3, with newly elected Board members seated at the
conclusion of the meeting.
