Call for Nominations – Board of Directors Positions
Southwestern Archaeology, Inc. (SWA), the sponsoring organization for Pecos Conference and the Cordell/Powers Prize, is calling for nominations for elections of two officers to be held at the 2026 Pecos Conference, August 6-9, near Mancos, Colorado.

 

The standing President David Purcell and Secretary Kim Spurr are completing their terms.

 

The following two-year positions are on this year’s ballot:

• President (2026-2028)

• Secretary (2026-2028)

Please nominate candidates for a position before July 25 by contacting David Purcell at davidepurcell@gmail.com with a candidate statement. Candidates will be announced, and candidate statements posted at the 2026 Pecos Conference. The vote will be held at the Business Meeting, Saturday, August 8, with newly elected Board members seated at the conclusion of the meeting.
