CONFERENCE LOCATION

Rowe Mesa, NM

The Rowe Mesa area of the Santa Fe National Forest has reopened and all permits have been approved for the 2022 Pecos Conference.

​

Directions: Santa Fe to Rowe exit - 29.0 miles

Rowe exit to Forest Road 124H via State Road 34 - 4.6 miles

ON-SITE CAMPING INFO

Tent and RV camping will be available at the conference site at no additional fee. You can select this option when completing your online registration. 

​

For preservation/conservation reasons, vehicles will not be able to drive far off of the tent camping access road. Campers will need to carry their gear if they wish to camp further in the tent camping area.

​

BE PREPARED FOR SUN - The tent camping areas on Rowe Mesa is in a clearing with minimal shade bearing trees. 

​

BRING YOUR OWN WATER - There will be no communal water tank available at this year's conference due to the high demand for cisterns in the fire mitigation areas throughout the state. 

THURSDAY NIGHT RECEPTION 

August 11 - 5:00 to 7:00pm​

Registration and packet pickup will be available at the conference location on Rowe Mesa along with complementary drinks and snacks. 

SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER

Catered by Whole Hog Café​

Option 1: Beef brisket and pulled pork combo, with potato salad, baked beans and roll
Option 2: Beef brisket and pulled chicken combo, with potato salad, baked beans and roll
Option 3: Jalapeno mac and cheese and cucumber salad combo, with roll

SATURDAY NIGHT BAND

The Kipsies

 

The Kipsies, an Americana-Folk band from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was formed from the multi-award winning band Breaking Blue. The Kipsies features some traditional bluegrass and old-time instrumentation, but with a progressive and modern sound that is sure to get you out of your seat. The unique mixture of folk, rock, jazz, classical, and bluegrass make The Kipsies a unique and inspiring band.

Food Truck will operate Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

MERCHANDISE

T-Shirts are available in tan, blue, and green in multiple sizes. You can purchase them in the online registration. 

Fun at the Pecos Conference Silent Auction!

Support our event and the Cordell-Powers Scholarship effort by donating your new or pre-cherished,  beloved, or formerly beloved, treasures for the always delightful silent auction, which takes place the first two days of the event. The most popular auction items include art, artifacts, mineral specimens, jewelry, pottery, textiles, gift certificates, y mas. 

 

Shopping at the auction is FUN! We accept cash, checks and credit cards, for your convenience.

FIELD TRIPS / TOURS

The following guided tours will be offered in conjunction with the 2022 Pecos Conference. Details and tour sign ups will begin Friday morning. Space is limited.

  • Rowe Mesa Petroglyphs 

Visit archaic era archaeological sites estimated at 4,000-6,000 years old. The glyphs follow the contours of the rock and incorporate natural features, such as nodules, bump and cracks into the carvings. These rock carvings include curvilinear, rectilinear, non-representational, irregular, geometric, spirals, starbursts, animal tracks, hunting images and vision and dreams.
